Gamin Spacecraft Architecture & Specifications

Gamin spacecraft rely on exorbitant amounts of armor for protection. This armor not only covers the outer hull of their spacecraft, but is also installed between virtually every deck. This allows their ships to sustain extreme amounts of damage and still be space worthy. Their main weaponry is kinetic energy based. The Gamin literally throw rocks at their targets, albeit rocks of super dense material moving at high velocity.

Flagship

Description:  The flagship has a narrow nose which slopes back toward a wide body that cuts in at the rear. Massive sub-light engines fill the out edges of the hull. The central section has five main engines which are grouped together and extend back behind the ship. This craft has multiple ramps leading into its hold areas.

Weaponry:  A veritable arsenal of pounders, heavy pounders, and polarized particle beams.

  • Function:  Fleet Command Ship.
  • Size of Craft:  Varies around 5km / 3.1 miles wide and 16km / 10 miles long.
  • Crew Compliment:  1500 - 9000
  • Special Notes:  Each fleet consists of one of these behemoths. With eighty internal decks these space-cities are protected by more armor than any other ship of the fleet. Each Regent commands their fleet from one of these ships.

Construction / Resource Collection

Description:  These craft also have the signature appearance of a narrow nose which slopes back toward a wide body that cuts in at the rear. Massive sub-light engines fill the out edges of the hull. The central section has three main engines grouped together that extend back behind the ship.

Weaponry:  A variety of weapons that include pounders, usually one heavy pounder, along with some polarized particle beams.

  • Function:  Construction ship / Resource collection / Cruiser.
  • Size of Craft:  3km / 1.8 miles wide and 8km / 5 miles long.
  • Crew Compliment:  1200 - 3000
  • Special Notes:  These spacecraft are primarily used in heavy combat roles or as planetary based construction platforms for new ships or as resource collection ships. The number of these ships in any given fleet varies.

Support Ship

Description:  These craft have the signature look of a narrow nose which slopes back toward a wide body that cuts in at the rear. Massive sub-light engines fill the out edges of the hull. The central section has a pair of engines resting side by side that extend back behind the ship.

Weaponry:  A variable number of pounders along with a few polarized particle beams.

  • Function:  Supply ship / Destroyer.
  • Size of Craft:  1km / 0.6 miles wide and 3km /1.8 miles long.
  • Crew Compliment:  175 - 1500
  • Special Notes:  These spacecraft are the mainstay of the Gamin fleet. Requiring the least crew to operate and being the most efficient, often finds these spacecraft relegated to hazardous situations.

Collection Ship

Description:  These craft differ from the rest of the Gamin fleet in appearance. They have wide open nose sections allowing for the collection of debris for recycling. The rear of these ships, however, is the same with massive sub-light engines filling the out edges of the hull. The central section has a single engine that extend back behind the ship.

    Weaponry:  None (Usually)

  • Function:  Fleet Recyclers.
  • Size of Craft:  These craft vary in size around 300m / 1000 feet wide and 1km / 0.6 miles long.
  • Crew Compliment:  1 - 5
  • Special Notes:  Some of these craft are used to collect and recycle debris from planetary oceans as well as from space

Scout Ship

Description:  These craft have a narrow nose that sweeps back to encompass the boxy rear area. The obvious absence of main drive or sub-light engines distinguishes these shuttles from all others. Their crude gravity landing system, limited thrusters, and stubby wings almost make these the most ungainly of all Gamin space vehicles.

    Weaponry:  None (Usually)

  • Function:  Small unit transport.
  • Size of Craft:  Approximately 10m / 33 feet wide, 50m / 165 feet long and 4m / 13 feet high.
  • Crew Compliment:  1 - 2 with transport capability of 20 more.
  • Special Notes:  The sensors on these craft make them effective for planetary survey duties. These craft can stow two ‘body suits’ in the pilot area, which itself can be sealed off from the cargo/hold area. Unlike other Gamin craft the scout ship is poorly armored, being designed purely for use in safe areas.

Dignitary Transport

Description:  These craft have a narrow nose that sweeps back to encompass the boxy rear area. The obvious absence of main drive or sub-light engines distinguishes these shuttles from all others. Their crude gravity landing system, limited thrusters, and stubby wings make these the must ungainly of all Gamin space vehicles.

    Weaponry:  None (Usually)

  • Function:  Specialized transport.
  • Size of Craft:  Approximately 20m / 65 feet wide, 70m / 230 feet long and 5m / 16 feet high.
  • Crew Compliment:  1 - 2 with transport capability of 20.
  • Special Notes:  Like the scout ship, these craft can stow two ‘body suits’ in the pilot area, which itself can be sealed off from the cargo/hold area. Unlike the scout ship, this craft does carry a thin armor belt. The interior of these craft is plush and luxurious, designed to transport its occupants in great comfort.
