Welcome to Team Terran's community page. These are some of the people that work behind the scenes, helping me to realize a long term dream of mine.
The writing of a book takes a lot of time and effort, and for me it has also involved quite a lifestyle change. Gone is much of the gaming I would do in my spare time, to be replaced with writing. The days are just too short to get everything done.
As an indie author, I don't have the resources of a publishing house, but I do have a great group of people backing me. These poor souls read my early ramblings, then provide their feedback. Based on this I make any changes deemed necessary. Writing is relatively easy, the rewriting and revisions before this group even see the work is an arduous task.
James and I have worked together for over eight years. In the last three, we have gotten to be really close friends.
When he first approached me about 'editing' his book, I said no. I was worried, what if I didn't like it? What if it was awful? What business did I have editing anything? Would he still be my friend if this all went poorly?
I told him no several times, before he convinced me that he REALLY wanted me to do this. At the end of the day I am happy to help, and love the books. This process has been an amazing ride, and I have promised my 'services' for as long as he will have me.
When I heard that my friend was writing a book I was naturally curious. I asked about his project and was immediately intrigued by the story idea and began to keep after him about how it was going.
My obvious interest got me the opportunity to do some proof reading on his story and after that was hooked! I have enjoyed the opportunity to continue as one of those lucky people who gets to read, and return input for his stories.
I consider it a great honor, and look forward to each new part of this series that finds its way into my hands. I have also purchased the final eBook copies of all of his works so I can have them for my collection.
Joint Plan has worked with James since he was 30% through the drafting of First Contact in April 2011. In this time we've been able to realise James' vision through his novels (yes... we've read them all as well as many drafts) to create a website that is visually stunning. Helping James grow his brand, we've completed a full revision of the website to add new features and content to promote James' and his brand, Terran Chronicles.
Our parntership in the latest venture, Terran Chronicles Magazine, has us thinking out of the box to create a freely distrbuted digital magazine where exclusive Terran Chronicles stories and articles will provide more insight to the Terran Chronicles Universe.
Don't be fooled, the magazine is more than just Terran Chronicles, it has a wider remit to include Author Profiles, Author Spotlights, dedicated pages to Indie Authors as well as exclusive interviews from prominant authors, their successes and failures.
Why not get involved and use this new platform to promote your work as an Author.
Doug is an amazing friend and supporter. Way back in early 2011 I was just about ready to throw in the towel.
Few words were making their way to paper, and of these I had my serious doubts. He was instrumental in helping me find the resolve to complete First Contact.
When it received some poor reviews we chatted, then I went back and made changes. The revised book released eight months later, and has been received well. His moral support has enabled me to power on, and improve as I go.
A while back I was asked by my friend James to be a proof/test reader for his Terran Chronicles Series. I accepted, being a science fiction fan myself.
I enjoy giving James my feedback and perspective about this wonderful and exciting series. It offers the reader an intriguing look at the interaction between our world and the alien world, which is as you know science fiction, or is it?
